Minimum recommended hardware for INTELLEX client is a 1 GHz processor with at least 512 MB of Ram running Windows XP SP2. Local disk space requirement is less than 1GB. Minimum recommended PC hardware for INTELLEX application server is a 2.0 GHz processor with 1 GB of RAM running Windows Server 2003. Minimum recommended PC hardware for Oracleâ server software is a 2.0 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM running Windows Server 2003. Allow 1GB for Oracleâ software and up to 4 GB for INTELLEX data. These are minimum recommendations for hardware. Most desktop machines and servers are already available with higher levels of RAM and disk space. The main rule of thumb for these apps is, the more memory you can apply to the app, the faster it will run. For the server(s), dual processors will also improve performance. As an example, we have an inhouse server that is setup as a terminal server for around ten remote users. This machine also has the Oracle database and the Intellex and Intellex Report clients installed. It is a Dell PE2600 server with dual 3.06 GHz CPU’s and 4 GB of RAM. It has Scsi drives in a 120GB Raid 5 array. This machine is intended to handle the load for 10 Intellex and Intellex Report users and the Oracle database for our entire network, so you can judge from there how you would like to scale up or down for your user load.
